Government programs and funding
Links to programs and resources available from the provincial and federal government which could be accessed to help our community pursue communications master planning for a FTTH initiative.
The Alberta government got involved at a provincial level with the SuperNet. There is considerable support at the federal and provincial levels encouraging municipalities to get involved. This is evidenced by several provincial and federal programs which support communities with funding to pursue Broadband connectivity and communications infrastructure projects.
The Alberta government advocates:
"Municipalities are now strongly encouraged to explore regional shared
services and delivery as well as economic development initiatives under
all future Regional Partnerships Initiative activities."
